Dear host families!☀️
My name is Şeyma, I’m 26 and Turkish. I have just returned to my home country, Turkey, from my one-year volunteer project where I worked with individuals with intellectual disabilities in Estonia. This experience is one of the most genuine, emotionally charged experiences of my life.
I studied Child Development in high school and I worked for almost two years as an assistant teacher in a kindergarten with children aged 3–6. I genuinely enjoy being around kids, I love their honesty, their energy, and their random questions that sometimes make you stop and laugh. I like joking with them, turning daily routines into small games, and building a warm, trusting bond rather than just “watching” them.
I’m someone who enjoys humor and believes laughter makes everything easier (especially with kids). I also love cooking and baking, involving children in small, safe kitchen activities or simply sharing something homemade is one of my favorite ways to connect.
I’d love to get to know your family, share everyday life together, and hopefully bring some warmth, laughter, and homemade treats into your home.
Best regards,
Şeyma
Esperienza con bambini
I studied Child Development and Education for three years in high school. Following my graduation, I worked for a year as an assistant kindergarten teacher, where I supported two separate classrooms of 20 children each, aged 3 to 6. My role included guiding them through their daily routines, organizing educational and creative activities, playing interactive games, and maintaining open communication with them.
I chose this career path because I have always felt a strong connection with children. Working directly in a preschool setting truly confirmed that supporting children's growth is my real passion.
Since then, I have worked as a private child caregiver in both Türkiye and Estonia. Additionally, I spent a year in Estonia volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities; an experience that deepened my patience, empathy, and adaptability.
For me, caring for children is far more than just a job; it is a heartfelt responsibility. I truly enjoy being a part of their world and creating a safe, loving, and encouraging environment where they can grow.
