Présentation

Hi! I'm a 21 year old girl from Iceland who is eager to get out into the world and lend a helping hand. I've spent the last year working and travelling by myself and have come to the realisation that i'd like to stop somewhere for longer than a week or two and make somewhat of a life for myself. I have worked with people for a couple years now but mainly the elderly and people with disabilities. I have been wanting to get into childcare for a while since my mom and sister are kindergarten teachers, my other sister teaches at a grade school, and my dad teaches at a secondary school. I've heard so many stories from them all and I'd love to try it out myself. From working around people with disabilities I have developed incredible patience and I'm a bit of a child at heart. I truly believe that a mixture of those two things, alongside my experience in housework from my current job, would fit very well as an au pair. I enjoy playing outside, whether it's on playgrounds or just running around. I adore reading and telling stories. I love taking care of others. I really don't mind housework, I find it relaxing. And most of all, I want to help out :)
Expérience avec les enfants

I honestly just want to help out. I remember how hard it was for my parents when I was younger to be able to have a life alongside working and taking care of our family, especially as single parents. There are also people around me having children and I'm seeing a similar theme there. I myself am at a place in my life where I can't decide what to do next. The world is so big and I'm young and privileged enough to have so many possibilities that it's overwhelming. So why not live in another place for a while? Why not get new perspectives and experiences? Why not help someone out as I'm doing that? I want to see the world and try and leave it better than I found it. Children are the future and so it's incredibly important to care for and teach them well. I really believe I can help out in that aspect.
