My name is Kate, and I’m from Kenya. I’m a warm, responsible, and curious person who enjoys learning about different cultures, trying new things, and bringing positive energy into the people around me. I love cooking, swimming, cycling, reading, and making delicious Kenyan dishes to share with others.
As an au pair, I hope to build a genuine connection with a family where we can learn from each other, share traditions, and create beautiful memories together. I value kindness, open communication, and mutual respect, and I would love to become a trusted big sister to your children while making your family feel at home with me, too. 💕
Experiencia con niños
I have childcare experience with children aged 15 months to 9 years. Earlier this year, I lived with a family for two months and helped care for their 15-month-old daughter while her parents worked. My responsibilities included preparing meals, feeding her, changing diapers, helping with naps and bath time, singing songs, playing, and keeping her environment tidy.
I have also helped care for my younger sister, supported a 9-year-old with school pickups, homework, meals, and activities, and spent weekends caring for a 5-year-old through play, puzzles, football, and everyday routines. These experiences have taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of helping children feel safe, loved, and understood. I enjoy getting to know each child's personality and creating a happy, caring environment where they can learn and grow. 💛
What I enjoy most about caring for children is watching them discover the world in their own little ways, celebrating their curiosity, and helping them feel safe and confident as they learn and grow. I love getting to know each child's unique personality and being part of those little everyday moments that mean so much .🥹💛

I’m really excited about the possibility of living in the Netherlands and experiencing Dutch culture beyond what I can learn from a distance. I’d love to discover local traditions, experience Dutch holidays and family life, and learn more about the language. I’m especially looking forward to the little everyday things, from exploring Dutch towns to discovering new foods and traditions. I’d also love to share a little piece of Kenya with my host family, whether through our food, traditions, or stories. For me, the beauty of being an au pair is getting to know another culture through the people who call it home. 💛
