Bio

Dear host family! My name is Emma, I am 22 years old, and I come from a town in Girona, Catalonia. I live with my parents, my 19-year-old twin sisters, and our cat, Menta. I currently work as an administrative assistant at a company, where I also handle graphic design tasks. I hold an intermediate-level vocational qualification in graphic design and a certification as a leisure activities leader; I am also currently pursuing an advanced-level vocational degree in early childhood education online through the IOC. I speak Catalan, Spanish, and English, and I am currently learning French. I have a driver's license and feel confident behind the wheel. I am a sociable, responsible, and easygoing person. I am happy to help with household chores related to the children, and I really enjoy cooking healthy, delicious meals. In my free time, I like to read and sew. I also enjoy going on excursions, and I love visiting the beach. I practice aerial silks and enjoy cycling. I love traveling, discovering new cultures, and trying new foods. I would love to be an au pair again because I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience; it helped me learn and grow as a person.
Childcare experience

When I was 18, I spent nearly five months in Germany working as an au pair for a very lovely family, where I looked after a one-year-old boy named Ole. My daily routine involved spending the morning with him: we would have breakfast together, play, work on potty training, and go for walks in his stroller—during which he would take his nap. While he slept, I would help with household chores, such as doing laundry, cooking, tidying up the playroom, and organizing clothes. It was a period of great personal growth; I became more independent and learned how to manage on my own, far away from home. I also have extensive experience working as a camp counselor and activity leader for school trips, day camps, and summer camps. In these roles, I organized and facilitated activities for children of various ages, ranging from 3 to 12 years old. Working as a camp counselor has helped me develop the tools and resources needed to engage effectively with children of different ages.
