Jambo! I'm Amani from Kenya. I'm gentle and dependable, and I'm passionate about early education: how children learn to speak, count, share and ask questions about everything. I enjoy explaining things simply and patiently, as many times as needed.
I like songs, stories and games that teach something without feeling like a lesson. I'm also practical: I help around the house, I cook basic meals and I'm used to taking responsibility for younger children in a family setting. I have a driving licence.
I'd like to spend three to six months abroad, improve my English and experience life with a host family. I speak Swahili and English, and I'd be happy to teach children some Swahili words and songs.
Expérience avec les enfants
I have three years of experience caring for children aged 2 to 8, mainly in family settings and at a community childcare group. My duties included supervising play, preparing meals, helping with homework and reading bedtime stories.
I also helped with a weekend reading programme at a local school, where I read aloud and led simple games with groups of younger children. I'm calm and consistent, which children respond well to.
